It is the city of Lord Indra and is known as the second largest city in Maharashtra of Vidarbha region which is about 156 km west of Nagpur it was named after the Ambadevi Temple which served as an administrative center in the Amravati district. History tells us that Krishna kidnapped Rukmini and married her in this temple. There is a spacious hall which is called Garbhagriha apart from the other walls. MelGhat Tiger Reserve

MelGhat Tiger Reserve

It is located in the Amravati district in Maharashtra and from the southern part of Satpura hills. It is about 225 km from Nagpur. It was started in 1967 as a wildlife sanctuary and was declared as a Tiger reserve in 1974 and it was the first Tiger reserve in Maharashtra. Some of the other species that can be witnessed in this reserve are Sloth Bear, Sambar deer, Nilgais, forest owlet, Leopards, and Indian Gaur. They are divided into 4 centres such as Semadoh, Harisal, Shahnur, and Chilkhaldara. There are few stay options near Semadoh in Kolkas which is about 14 km from Semadoh.
