Day 1 - Arrival in Sankri – The Start of Your Kedarkantha Trek Package

Distance covered on day 1: 200 km

  • The trek to Kedarkantha starts from Dehradun. Representatives will pick you up from the Dehradun railway station. 
  • From there, you will head to Sankri, 200 km away from Dehradun. It is a charming little town situated in the mountains. The drive will take you through Mussoorie, Netwar, Purola, and more amidst dense forest and meadows.
  • By evening, you will arrive at Sankri village. Here you can check in the guest hotel or hotel.

Day 2 - Start the Journey from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab

Juda ka talab

  • After breakfast, you will start your 4 km trek to Juda ka Talab.
  • The trail from Sankri to Juda ka Talab is impressive as you pass through dense forests of rhododendrons and oak.
  • After 5-6 hours, you will reach the campsite at Juda Ka Talab. Enjoy a delicious lunch and rest in your comfortable camps.

Day 3 - Trek from Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp

  • On day 3, you start your trek to Kedarkantha base camp from this checkpoint.
  • During the afternoon, you will arrive at the base camp, where you can have a delicious dinner. 
  • You will head on a walk during the evening for refreshments and take an early dinner while resting in the camp.

Day 4 - Conquer Kedarkantha Summit and Head to Hargaon Camp

  • You start your trek to Kedarkantha Peak early, at 4 am. It is a steep climb, so follow your guides. 
  • The trail will be snowy, so follow the trek leaders carefully as you head towards the summit.
  • Ensure you carry water with you, as the trail will have no water points in between.
  • You will also get to witness a beautiful sunrise from the stunning Kedarkantha summit. Use trekking poles to hike here because the trek will be snowy and icy.
  • Reach the summit to enjoy the beautiful views of the valleys and peaks.
  • You will witness many Himalayan valleys and peaks as you reach the summit; the 360-degree view is simply incredible. 
  • After spending time at the summit, you will descend to Kedarkantha base camp and head to Juda ka Talab.

Day 5 - Return to Sankri—Final Leg of the Trek

  • On day 5, you will start your descent towards Sankri village. After trekking 6 km for 2-3 hours, you will reach Sankri.
  • As you reach here, you will meet the representative and drive back to Dehradun. 
  • After 3 hours, you will reach Sankri, and the representatives will take you to Dehradun.
  • The trail will be the same, but as you will be descending, it is necessary that you are cautious and listen to your trek instructors.
  • You will reach the Sankri village by 1 pm and head for Dehradun soon after. Arrive at Dehradun by 10:30 pm and leave for your destinations.

You need to submit a treadmill test if you are over 58 years old. And you should also be able to jog 4-5  km in 40 mins.
