The summer months are generally considered the best to go for the trek. This is the time when the wildflowers grow out in full bloom and the slopes of the mountains are covered in lush greens. The trip can be a lot of fun around September as well. Generally, monsoon months should be avoided as the path becomes slippery and dangerous.
While Kasol does have ATMs, they are often not in working condition. It is best to avoid any problems and just carry enough cash!
If you have extra time in Kasol then visit Chalal or Malana village. Manikaran Gurudwara can be visited on your way back from Barshaini. You can also consider the exciting Chalal trek while there
The trek is open even during December. You are most welcome to undertake this trek at the end of the year, if you so wish! However, if the trek is undertaken in December, there are certain things to be kept in mind - the snow gets really slippery, and dangerous during the winter months. It is best to undertake a guided tour, with adequate trekking gear including trekking shoes and poles. However, once you reach safely to the top, the hot springs awaiting you become even more enticing.
The temperature during the trek varies throughout the seasons. It can go from an average maximum of 37 degrees in June to an average minimum of 3 degrees in December. Choose your time of visit as per your preferences. If you want to explore the wilderness, in pleasant, slightly warmer weather, then March to May are the best months. However, if you’re looking for snow and colder winds, then November to February is the best time!
You can simply take a bus from Kashmere Gate to Bhuntar. From Bhuntar, HRTC buses ply to Kasol on a regular basis. You can also fly to the Bhuntar Airport, also known as the Kullu Manali Airport. From here you can take a bus or a taxi to Kasol. You can also take a train either to the Chandigarh railhead or to Joginder Nagar Railway Station. From these places, you can take a bus towards Manikaran or hire a cab straight to Kasol. Or you can even drive to Kasol, or hire a car to take you there. The road journey will be picturesque and enjoyable.
Kheerganga is perched at a height of 2960 m, in the Parvati Valley. This is the highest point of the trek. Kasol, located at an altitude of 1580 m, is the base camp for the trek and is nestled slightly lower in the valley.

The total distance from Kasol to Kheerganga is 12-13 km and will remain the same regardless of the route you take. Thus, the total distance covered during the trek becomes around 25 km including both sides.

Kasol- Kheerganga is a 12km trek. From Barshaini, It will take 5-6 hours to get complete. With camping, the trek is of 2days and offer a lot during the journey like scenic vistas, gorgeous mountains, gushing waterfalls, splashing Parvati valley, etc. The hot springs of Kheerganga will be a great savior for the trek. Take a dip into the hot water and do camping the top with the astounding views.

Tosh is a quaint village near Kasol which gained popularity in recent years. Kasol-Kheerganga via Tosh village is a great idea and opportunity to see the trippy vibes of the village. You will smell Marijuana while entering the village. You will spot some wooden houses, shops, and cafes in Tosh.
Mobile network connectivity issue is very common in hilly areas. Somehow, BSNL can work in Kasol at some places. Other SIM cards like Vodafone, airtel won't work. It is good to inform your family about the trek in advance.
You will need to carry good quality trekking shoes which are light-weight, comfortable, and one which doesn't hurt your feet. You can shop good quality shoes from brands like wildcraft, Decathlon, Quechua, and few others.
High altitude treks involve high risk. In relation to the risk involved, there are some prescribed responds to deal with risky situations.
Risk: Altitude: Before starting a high altitude trek you should be aware of the implications of high altitude on your body. Beware of symptoms such as mountain sickness, headache, nausea and any kind of discomfort.
Response: If you feel any of such symptoms inform the trek leader and always carry medicines for such situations. Every camp has the stretcher, proper first aid box and oxygen cylinders for such an emergency.
Risk : Weather: Weather is always unpredictable in the Himalayan regions, therefore it is important to understand the security. We do not proceed further till the weather improves.
Response: Wait for the decision of trek leader. The decision of the trek leader will be final and the trek can further proceed with his/her approval.
Prevention is better than cure. Kasol kheerganga is at an altitude of (9917ft) trekkers may suffer from altitude sickness, high altitude sickness, and headache because of the cold therefore always carry some basic medicines which are required during trekking.
The distance from Delhi to kasol is 517km it will take 12hrs to reach kasol.
The distance of Kasol to Manikarna Sahib is of 3km, it takes 10-20 minutes to reach there.
The nearest airport to Kasol Kheerganga is Pantnagar airport, which is at the distance of 235 km from Kheerganga. From here, you can opt for a taxi or cab to reach Barshani which is 11 km away
The distance between Bhuntar to Kasol is 30 km, it will take 1.5 hours to reach Kasol.
If you have extra time in Kasol then visit Chalal or Malana village. Manikaran Gurudwara can be visited on your way back from Barshaini. You can also consider the exciting Chalal trek, Choj bridge, kasol park, Ragunath Mandir and Naina Bhagwati mandir to explore the beauty of nature
Choose trekking shoes wisely. Follow these factors while buying trekking shoes-
Kheerganga is a perfect getaway with friends and family away from a city’s hustle-bustle. Kheerganga is a small town with enchanting water streams, serene landscapes and scenic mountains. To reach Kheerganga, you need to reach Manali or Bhuntar which is well connected with Kheeranga via a road.
Only the BSNL network works at Kheerganga settlement.

Kheerganga is a lovely place to visit. You will enjoy the site from March to May and September to Mid November.
SUMMER SEASON- April to June are beautiful days to visit Kheerganga as the weather is pleasant and all the cafes are in full swing. A large number of tourists come at Kheerganga during summer. The temperature ranges somewhere between 13â to 35â
MONSOON SEASON- The months from August to September are the months to be avoided for this trip. You will witness heavy rainfall and frequent landslides during monsoon, due to which roads are blocked, and adventure activities are suspended. The temperatures are somewhere between 15â to 25â
WINTER SEASON- The winter months from November to February are considerably colder, and you may even witness snowfall. Winter is not a perfect time to go trekking and camping.
