Visapur Fort is one of the highest hill forts in Maharashtra, situated near Visapur village in Lonavala. It is one of the best trekking destinations and is popular with trekkers from both Pune and Mumbai. The excursion is great, and you could trek to the top. The difficulty level is moderate. If the trip is planned during monsoon you can enjoy the lush green view throughout the trail. You can also experience and trek through a waterfall for the most part of the trek. Sounds like a thrilling experience!

This trek is one of the best treks to do on a weekend. While on the trek you will find the ruins of ancient architecture of the Peshwa's palace and some religious places/temples to offer to God and one will also find the ruins of the British era.

Which is the best time to visit Visapur fort trek?

The best time to visit Visapur Fort is between June to February. The cold season is more convenient if we consider weather, but the monsoon season not only gives you a pleasing experience, but you can also enjoy the scenic beauty and greenery and it will also be a great experience to walk through a gushing waterfall trail. If you simply want to explore the fort, then plan it during winter months- you will not have to face slippery trails and also the weather will be great. It is a popular trek among Mumbai and Pune people, so it is very crowded during weekends.

What is the distance of Malavali station from the base village?

The distance is 8 kms from the base village to Malavali station. You will be provided transportation from Malavali station to the base village.

Is food available on the top of Visapur fort?

No food is not available at the top. You need to carry your own. However there are many stalls at the base village.
