Itinerary For Triund Trek & Camping, McLeod Ganj

Day 1 - Trek to Triund (Dharmakot to Triund)- 8 km long trek

  • 10:00 AM - Meet us at Dharamkot/Bhagsunag, which is less than 2 km from McLeodganj. We will start our trek from here. Prepare yourself to watch the scenic views of nature.
  • For beginners, this trek will take around 4-5 hours. We will move at a comfortable pace, exploring the trail, peeking through the dense forest, drinking in the brilliant vista.
  • We will reach Triund before the sunset as that is the one thing that you cannot miss on this trek. Once you’ve witnessed the absolute beauty of the sunset, you can never forget it for life. 
  •  In the star-studded night time, we will start our story-swapping session around the campfire, and enjoy our scrumptious dinner.
  •  Around 10:00 PM - You can retire to your tent for the night.

Day 2 - Sunrise at Triund and back to Dharamkot!

  • Wake early to enjoy the sunrise. The other thing that you can’t miss on this memorable trek along with the sunset, is the sunrise. The view of the sky rapidly changing colors with the rising sun is more than just beautiful - it takes your breath away.
  • After enjoying the sunrise, you can relax for a while, have breakfast, and prepare for the day’s upcoming trek.
  • This day, we’ll have to start really early since we’ll be retracing the steps that we covered in the past day. However, since the way is mostly a descent, it is easier even for first-timers, and faster.
  • We’ll keep the pace comfortable and enjoy the enthralling trek back.
  • In the evening, we reach Dharamkot, where this journey ends.

yes, it's totally safe and everything will be under the supervision of the trek leaders and we will ensure the safety of every trekker present in the group. 

What are the risks and responses for high altitude trek?

High altitude treks involve high risk and in relation to the risk involved there are some prescribed responses planned by TTH to minimize or to deal with risky situations.
Risk: altitude: before starting a high-altitude trek you should be aware of the implications of high altitude on your body. Beware of symptoms such as mountain sickness, headache, nausea, and any kind of discomfort.
Response: if you feel any of such symptoms inform the trek leader and always carry medicines for such situations. every camp has a stretcher, proper first aid box, and oxygen cylinder for such an emergency.
Risk : Weather: weather is always unpredictable in Himalayan regions, weather can change any time there can be snowfall, rain, or sun. so it is important to understand the security and we will not proceed further till the weather improves.
Response: wait for the decision of the trek leader will be final and the trek can only proceed when the guide says.
Risk the mobile connectivity is poor in such regions so the mobile networks may not catch .so you would not be able to communicate with anyone.
Response: we rely on walkie-talkies to communicate from one base camp to another.

Kareri River Trek
It is located 9km away from Dharamshala and the name of the place is named after the village Kareri. It is at an altitude of 9629ft above sea level and the difficulty level of the trek is moderate. In the winter the lake freezes and looks phenomenally beautiful.

Guna Devi Temple Trek
Guna Devi temple is located 13km away from Dharmshala and it is the pilgrim center for locals and Gaddi shepherds, you will be passing by Deodar forest and scenic view of mountains. The trek starts from Naddi village above Dal Lake. It is an easy trek, suitable for beginners.

Bhagsu Trek
The trek to Bhagsu Falls is small but fulfilling. When you will start the trek, at the bottom you will find the Bhagsunath temple, a temple of lord shiva. Bhagsunath waterfall is 3km away from Mclodganj.
