Bird watchers have an eye on Agasthyamala. You have a great opportunity to enjoy the exotic species here and melt in the aesthetic beauty of Neyyar dam. This is also an abode of a great variety of fauna and flora and herbal spices.
This peak is named after Agasthya, the sage and is also a pilgrim site. There comes a 90 minute drive till Bonacaud, the last motorable place.

Agasthyarkoodam or Agasthyamala Overview

This place is only available from January second week to March every year because of some ecological reasons. Every year, they supply only 100 tickets everyday which is 75 seats online and 25 seats offline.
One can register for the trek through the portal of Kerala Forest department. All the information regarding the trek will be published in newspapers that are all available in kerala. You will have a trekking guide for this entire journey.
The total cost of 1800 rupees incurred for this trek involves permit for forest entry as well as stay. Meals are not included in this package.
