This place is famous for the trek and we trek from the morning we reached the top and see from the top it was very nice looking and enjoy our trek.
The trail is pretty obvious and simple in the beginning, which starts from inside Manali Wildlife Sanctuary. As you go along the trail, it starts getting steeper and narrow. The view of course starts getting better as well. You eventually reach a meadow with oregano and what not growing and that's where it gets a lil tricky. I got lost for almost 45 minutes here trying to find the trail up to Lama Dugh.
We did it Clockwise, the road is open but not clear, and the way down is full of snow and not recommended for the inexperienced. Other than that, a lovely trip.
We tried to do this full loop counterclockwise as we’d read on all trails & google it was open. After 2 hours and about 2km from the top, we hit snow which we tried to hike through for another km until it became too much as we weren’t prepared with snow gear.
From the start, the path was a challenge to find, as it was obscured by snow. After a shaky but beautiful climb, thick snow starts to appear at around 2,370 m. From there, no path is visible and the snow is above knee-deep. Had to turn back. Still, it was spectacular.
Beautiful hike, I did it anti-clockwise which I would recommend so you get a view on the way down and it’s very steep. The path at some stages was very hard to find/nonexistent but persevere because it was worth it.
You can also start your trek towards Kanyal village from here. If you go in August, you can find ripe apples in the wild!
A very good trek. Not difficult. Till lions rock you can finish in 2 hours up and down. After that point, it may take some time to complete.
A mesmerizing place with peaceful and positive vibes... Away from traffic ✨ Though there are no sign boards and retail shops nearby (you need to carry a water bottle and some snacks along with you).
This a small trek just over the town of Manali, a few minutes of walk away from Hadimba temple or old Manali. A water tank on the pathway is the starting point of this trek. Would take approx 4-5 hrs to reach the top, though we did not go all the way to the top as we were highly unprepared. Ideal for someone looking to fit a day's hike in their Manali itinerary.
