One of the best forts in Rajasthan, stunningly golden! While it's a live-in fort and hence the entrance, as well as the general area, may not look clean but the views from the fort are just awesome. Some important tips for first-time visitors:
This is a review of the fort museum. The ticket is 600 rupees for foreigners. You get an audio guide with your ticket. The fort is nice, but sadly, for the price, the museum experience is quite poor. In half of the palace, you are met with empty exhibits and locked doors.
JAISALMER FORT is the only fort in India where people are allowed to live and work in that place. And so the maintenance and quality of the fort have taken a severe beating and certain parts of this giant-sized structure are practically in ruins
Heritage fort it's built 11th century by mahrawal Jaisal, in the side fort many hotels, restaurants shops, and more than 4000 people living in the side fort.
Although a long walk up the steep hill if you are smart you can get an auto to take you up the steep part of the climb The viewpoint on the lower level was good enough for us as we did not want to walk up the hill The short walk to the Jain temples was worth the visit To take a guide along is recommended
I visited the fort last week. It s a wonderful fort. It's huge and we'll maintain it. But there are no restrooms. You need to walk a lot from the main gate and all the security are too rude. All the guides are like they know everything. U can visit the fort and have a great time with ur family.
It is a beautiful fort - which looks like it's dipped in honey in the golden hour. A lot of the city (perhaps, a quarter) lives inside the fort so it is loud and crowded all the time. But from the place, you can see all of the city, and it looks incredible.
There are multiple Jain temples on the premises, which we couldn't visit as it was restricted to Jain only for the season. The interiors of the palace are not great if you compare it with other forts and palaces in India
Jaisalmer is One of the best live forts in India. It is a combination of fort and shopping. You can see a lot of shops selling clothes, souvenirs, ornaments etc etc. You can have a good view of the golden city from the top of the fort. Temples and restaurants are also present here. In the street at the entrance of the fort also there are many shops. It is a must-visit spot.
