Kareri Lake Trek is a 13-km trek that covers a 5 km area of forest with mixed broadleaf and pine forests. This palace offers the best view of nature to the trekkers with a stunning view of Dhauladhars reflecting on the surface of the lake.
The trek starts with the forest of broadleaf and pine which slowly transitions into lush green grasslands. You will also come across bubbling streams and beautiful waterfalls along the way.
If you are planning for a lovely adventure then you should plan the Kareri Lake trek during the winter months to witness the beauty of the snow-covered valley. The winter season here starts in December and lasts till the end of february. If you are not a fan of the winter season and want to see the beautiful flora and fauna blooming then you should plan the trek in the spring season.

By road: you can take an overnight bus from Delhi to Mcleodganj to reach Dharamkot which is just 2 km away. From there you can find a taxi or an autorickshaw to cover the distance. The distance can also be covered by a 30-minute walk.
By air: you can take a flight from Dharamshala Airport and then catch a taxi or rickshaw to reach Dharamkot.
By train: you can take a train from Pathankot railway station, and from there you can easily get a taxi or autorickshaw to reach Dharamkot.
