Bishnupur is a city located in the eastern Indian state, West Bengal. The place is famous for its Hindu temples, which were made from local terracotta, like the pyramid-shaped Rasmancha, and was established in 1600. In earlier times Bishnupur was the capital of the dynasty named Mallabhumi. The dynasty ruled just a small region till the 8th century but during the 16th century the dynasty expanded and got spread in larger areas, it also became a lot more powerful during the rule of King Birhan Bir. But unfortunately, his fort is almost gone. He built many lakes and ponds in pure Bengali style during his rule all over the city.
