Everest base camp Highlights

  • As everyone wishes to go trekking in the Everest camp, the trek here including the Gokyo ri circuit is worth it.
  • The Gokyo region is less visited. But a three more days of trail will make the trek eventful.
  • One will cover a height of 17,00 ft in the Gokyo ri trek and that is making the trek difficult. There are tricky traverses like Ngozumpa glacier and chola pass. So this trek is not easy at all. It is advised to come well prepared for the trek.

Everest base camp Overview

  • It is to be noted that the views one gets from the Gokyo ri summit are greater than the ones from Kala patthar. For instance if one sees only 3 of the 14 thousanders- Everest, makalu and  lhotse from the kala patthar, one sees another 8 thousanders additional to it from the Gokyo ri.
  • The gokyo ri summit offers another view like that of Ngozumpa glacier, the blue-green lakes, and many more lakes which are called the Gokyo lakes.
