This adventure offers breathtaking views of traditional villages, diverse landscapes, and the majestic Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Gurja Himal. You'll traverse a moderate pass at 3250 meters above sea level, providing astonishing vistas. 

Expect possible snowfall during the winter months from December to February. Accommodation and dining options include homestays and basic teahouses.

To return, follow the same path back to Darbang and then make your way back to Pokhara.

Itinerary For gurja himal trek

Day 1 - Drive to Beni Darbang

Beni Darbang

  • Enjoy breakfast, then choose between a quick 25-minute flight to Pokhara with stunning mountain views or a 6-7 hour scenic bus journey along the Prithvi Highway, which adds an extra day to your trek.

Day 2 - Trek to Lulang

Lulang

  • Stick to the jeep road, occasionally dusty or muddy but with light traffic, mostly mule trains.
  • Enjoy stunning Dhaulagiri range views.
  • Pass through woodlands and terraced fields, observing villagers' seasonal agricultural activities.
  • After an hour, reach the picturesque Takam village with slate roofs and a pagoda temple amidst rice fields and snow-capped mountains.
  • Before Takam, take a shorter, less dusty right fork, passing a water spout.
  • Find homestays and teashop-lodges.
  • Continue on the jeep track, navigating a landslide-prone area, and arrive at Sibang (1790m) in 30 minutes.

Day 3 - Gurja khani

Gurja khani

  • Ascend from Lulang via a well-traveled path, passing through a mossy oak-rhododendron forest to reach a draughty teashop at the pass with splendid Gurja Himal views.
  • Descend along a trail that reveals views of Gurja Himal, encountering a repaired path damaged by a 2014 monsoon landslide.
  • Cross the modern suspension bridge over the Dhaula Khola and ascend one more time to reach a flattish grassy meadow with a water tap and an empty building, leading to Gurja Khani village.

Day 4 - Rest Day

  • Take a break and explore the Hidden Village.
  • Enjoy meals throughout the day.
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided.

Day 5 - Trek to Lulang

Lulang

  • Embark on a 7-hour trek to Lulang at 2450m. 
  • Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
  • Stay in a homestay in Lulang.

Day 6 - Return to Darbang

Darbang

  • Journey back to Darbang.
  • Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
  • Accommodation in a teahouse in Darbang at 1560m.

Day 7 - Back to Pokhara

  • Return to Pokhara.
  • Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch.
  • Stay at Hotel Mount View in Pokhara at 800m.

Day 8 - Drive to Kathmandu

  • Transfer to the bus station and travel to Kathmandu by tourist coach with your guide.
  • Your journey concludes as you are dropped off at your selected hotel in Kathmandu.
