Koh Chang Overview

It is located in Thailand and is one of the biggest islands in the southern region. Everyone can find something to enjoy, be it adrenaline or simply rest in the heat of the day by napping and chilling on your vacation.

Kai Bae -

It is more popular with families and independent visitors who value some home comforts while still enjoying a relaxing stay in an air-conditioned cottage by the sea rather than many package tourists. In a single picture, you can capture the sea, the shore, and the sky. You can also see a lot of palm trees if you go hiking in the area. You can even find food from everywhere that is cheap but delicious.

Klong Plu Waterfall -

It is tucked away and hidden within the rainforest with a round-year supply of water making it perennial even during the summer months. The water descends into a big pool at the bottom, and you may swim with the fish there. You can even trek to the waterfalls in the shadow of the treeline and get some peace and quiet.

Koh Chang Naval Battle Memorial-

It was made in memory of the naval combat in January 1941 between the Royal Thai Navy and the French Navy during World War II. It is a representation of Thailand's maritime heritage. There is also a museum with exhibitions of naval history and records. There is also no admission cost, which aids in understanding the relevance of history during wartime.

Bang Bao Fishing Village-

Bang Bao has retained its authentic charm as a traditional fishing village, despite some development to accommodate tourists. The village features wooden houses built on stilts, extending out into the water. It has a long wooden pier and boardwalk that stretches out into the sea. You can see a few fishing boats docked along the water. And the boardwalk is surrounded by shops selling trinkets targeted at tourists. Fresh catches are displayed in the seafood markets, and you can even eat them traditionally cooked in the eateries nearby.

Mu Ko Chang National Park-

It is a marine national park with rainforest covering most of the land area. It has evergreen trees and hardwood trees with a dense canopy, and you can spot deer, gibbons, and even lizards. Indochinese lutung, which is a rare species of monkey, is also protected in this region. You can go hiking in the interiors of the forest and in the marine area you can snorkel and observe the most beautiful coral reefs that are protected in the IUCN list. Sea turtles and occasionally even sharks and whales can be spotted on the coast.

Khlong Son Temple-

Not well known widely amongst tourists, it is a local religious center for the fishing communities. Inside you can find statues of Buddha, beautiful wall paintings depicting scenes from Buddhist mythology, and a peaceful ambiance for meditation and contemplation. The temple has elaborate ornamentation, murals, and detailed wood carvings, all of which are typical of Thai architecture. If you are walking or taking a ride on the island you should visit this place.

Salakphet Bay-

It is a fishermen's village where you can view the traditional way of living and experience the Thai fishing community lifestyle along the beautiful coastal area of Long Beach. The bay is surrounded by mangrove forests, and you can enjoy a ride around the bay by kayaking. You can even explore the area and take selfies in the famous Red Bridge, which gives a scenic view of the Mangroves.

White Sand Beach-

It is known for its fine, powdery white sand that stretches along the shore. You can play volleyball, sunbathe or walk along the beach and visit the restaurants for some tasty Thai food.

Chai Chet Beach-

This is another beach with a lot of shops in the bay. It has a small extension and a rock from where you can sit and watch the sunset. You can even go to the supermarkets and buy local produce.
