Har ki Dun Trek Distance Overview

One of the most stunning and memorable valleys of the Garhwal Himalayas is the Har ki Dun Trek. It is situated at a height of 12,000 feet and is also known as ‘the Valley of Gods.’ If you are planning to trek to Har Ki Dun, it is important to know the Har Ki Dun trek distance from the base camp of Sankri or from Delhi and Dehradun. There is a story behind the name—the Valley of Gods. It is believed to be the path that the Pandavas took to reach the Swaroghini peak on their way to heaven. Therefore, it is considered one of the best treks to take on, as you can feel the spirituality on the trail.

The terrain of the trek is beautiful, surrounded by rich flora and fauna along with alpine vegetation. The best time to trek, Har ki Dun, is between the months of March to June or September to December.

One of the most unique things about the terrain is that it changes color every season, making it an ideal route for trekkers and nature lovers. The terrain is mostly an easy hike, making the trek a moderate one. However, you do cover long distances in one day, and there are not many exits, so the trek is challenging for people with no experience. However, heading here with a guide ensures a beautiful experience and a chance to spot the national bird of India—the Himalayan Monal. Are you ready to head to this trek? Then, here is a distance guide for the Har Ki Dun trek.
