Ethnographic Museum Of Geneva (Meg)

MEG is located  right into the centre of the metropolitan city. It gives every visitor a chance to experience the different cultures  around the world. The MEG which is also renowned as the Geneva Museum of Ethnography was created by Professor Eugene Pittard. It houses artifacts that are culturally rich and belong to as many as five continents. Founded in the year 1901, the museum was first housed in the Mon Repos Villa.  The public, as well as private ethnographic collections together are the treasures of the museum.

In the museum, you can also see the weapons that belong to Geneva History Museum and other timeless articles of the Archaeology Museum of Geneva, Museum of the Missions. Later, the MEG moved the boulevard Carl that is situated right into the centre of the city in the year 1939.

The structure of the museum is exquisite, one of its own kind. It was influenced by the Pagoda style and was designed by Graber Pulver Architekten AG.
