Highlights of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple

The temple is known for its magnificent architecture, which combines many styles from across India. The main temple is built in Dravidian architecture, while the gopuram (tower) is built in the Rajasthani style.

Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is the temple's patron. The main deity is a 10-foot-tall idol of Lord Venkateswara, which is said to have self-manifested.

The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple is particularly known for its yearly Brahmotsavam festival, which is conducted with significant ceremony and majesty. The Rathotsavam (chariot procession) and Garuda Seva are among the ceremonies and rituals that take place throughout 9 days (the deity being carried on the shoulders of a person dressed as Garuda). During festivals such as Brahmotsavam, Vaikunta Ekadasi, and Navaratri, the temple becomes a buzzing place. Thousands of devotees visit the temple during these festivals to offer prayers and seek blessings.

The temple is renowned for its elaborate poojas and rituals, which are performed by a group of experienced priests. Devotees can seek the Lord's blessing by attending various poojas and rituals.

The lord's statue is seen above the waist, and the lower portion is imagined to be on the earth. Bali Chakravarthi, who is worshipped every day in Patala loka, is supposed to receive the holy feet as an offering.

The full-size deity of Lord Venkateswara, which sits behind the main idol, is believed to have been placed in the 11th century by the famous social reformer Ramanujacharya.

With its five main Rajagopuram towards the south and three other gopuras on the other three sides, this temple is a work of South Indian architecture.

The temple is situated on the banks of the Krishna River and provides a picturesque view of the surrounding areas. In addition, there is a park close to the temple that's frequently visited by tourists.

The temple is perched on a hill, offering a stunning view of Vijayawada. Devotees have to climb a staircase which can be incredibly challenging in order to reach the temple. Another interesting element of the temple is that the hill appears to be in the shape of a serpent.
