See the Teatro Real, an opera house that was began by Ferdinand VII in 1817 on the site of an earlier theatre and finished in 1850. The structure underwent several repairs before being abandoned in the early 20th century. After repairs, the museum, which had formerly served as a music hall until 1966, reopened in 1977.

The opera theatre now contains 28 boxes distributed among its several floors, with a total capacity of 1745 people. See the "La Rotonda," which surrounds the whole building and is the only floor open to the public. It includes four spacious rooms with varying colour schemes that house artwork and paintings from the National Heritage.

In addition to being acknowledged for its great work in 2019, TeatroReal also won the top prize at the International Opera Awards in 2021.
