Since its opening in November 1963, the zoo has transformed into an open zoo, housing more than 90% of its animals in exhibits that are close to their natural environments. The Giant Panda Conservation Center is the most well-known of Zoo Negara's 44 exhibits, where visitors can see a few adorable giant pandas. Gibbons, silver leaf monkeys, and macaques can be found in the Monkey and Lesser Apes exhibit, while crocodiles, snakes, terrapins, and tortoises can be found in the Reptile Park.
