Duration; The Gomukh Trek typically takes 8 days and 7 nights allowing you plenty of time to fully appreciate the scenery and incredible natural beauty.

Day 1 - Dehradun to Gangotri drive

It takes 7 to 8 hours to drive a distance of 242 kilometers.
Starting from Dehradun we will drive towards Gangnani via Uttarkashi.
Gangnani is famous, for its hot water springs, where people can enjoy bathing.
On the day we will continue our drive, to Gangotri. Spend the night at a guesthouse.

Day 2 - Gangotri to Chirbasa

We embarked on a 9 kilometer trek that took us 6 hours to complete.
Our journey began from Gangotri and our destination was Chirbasa, situated at an altitude of 3,650 meters.
Following the worn path, from Gangotri we made our way through the area leading to Chirbasa.
Throughout the days trek we were accompanied by the sound of the Bhagirathi River.

Day 3 - Chirbasa to Bhojbasa

The trek covers a distance of 5 kilometers, which can typically be completed in about 3 to 4 hours.
As we go beyond Chirbasa the landscape transforms into an barren terrain.
Many trekkers have actually compared it to an Arctic Tundra due, to its starkness.
The trail, from Chirbasa takes us deeper into a forest until we reach Bhojwassa.
In Bhojbasa there is a temple and a potential campsite located near the river.

Day 4 - Bhojbasa to Gaumukh to Tapovan

Explore this region. Continue your trek to Tapovan, an exquisite alpine meadow located at a high altitude.
During the ascent from Gaumukh, to Tapovan be prepared for a climb. However as you ascend you will be rewarded with views of the peaks that surround you.
These peaks will seem close almost as if you could reach out and touch them.

Day 5 - Tapovan rest day

Today is an opportunity for us to adapt, unwind and appreciate the snow covered mountains, beautiful plants and animals and the overall mountain scenery.
This region attracts accomplished mountaineers.
Right, in front of us stands the Shivling peak. To its lies Meru.
Just a little, to the left of Shivling is Sumeru.
Further to the left we can catch a glimpse of the Bhagirathi peaks.

Day 6 - Tapovan to Bhojbasa- 5-6 h

It takes around 5 6 hours to trek, from Tapovan to Bhojbasa covering a distance of 7 kilometers.
In the morning we have the pleasure of witnessing the sunrise over the majestic peaks.
Following a breakfast we proceed with our trek, towards Bhojbasa.

Day 7 - Bhojbasa to Gangotri

We will be embarking on a 5 6 hour trek, from Bhojbasa to Gangotri covering a distance of 14 kilometers.
Our journey, to Gangotri will commence in the morning.
Afterwards we will enjoy dinner. Spend the night at a guesthouse.

Day 8 - Gangotri to Dehradun drive
