Your Kedarkantha Trek adventure begins today as you depart from Dehradun at 6:30 AM, headed for Sankri. The 210-kilometer journey promises breathtaking scenery and takes around 9 hours. Along the way, you'll be treated to picturesque vistas of Garhwal, winding roads, and charming towns like Mussoorie and Barkot. Upon reaching Sankri, a quaint village situated about 13 kilometers inside Govind National Park, you'll set up camp for the night.
Day 2 - Trek from Sankri to Juda ka Talaab:
Today marks the beginning of our trek from Sankri to Juda ka Talaab, located at an altitude of 9100 feet. We kick off early in the morning, ensuring we're acclimatized for the journey. The charming village of Sankri will serve as our starting point, and as we trek, the beautiful surroundings will keep you motivated. At the end of the day, we'll find ourselves at Juda ka Talaab, a serene pond encircled by pine and oak trees, where we'll spend the night.
Day 3 - Trek from Juda ka Talaab to Kedarkantha Base:
Today, the Kedarkantha Trek adventure takes us from Juda ka Taalab to Kedarkantha Base. The frozen beauty of Juda ka Taalab, surrounded by pine trees, provides a playground for fun activities. You can walk on the frozen surface and try your hand at sliding down the slopes. Our experienced guides will impart essential trekking skills for navigating these slopes. After covering a 4-kilometer distance in approximately 2 hours, we'll arrive at the Kedarkantha Base camp, nestled at an altitude of 11,250 feet. This stunning location, amidst pine and oak trees, offers a serene setting to set up camp. Resting on the meadows and stargazing will help you unwind after the day's trekking.
Day 4 - Trek to Kedarkantha Summit and Descend to Juda ka Talaab:
Today's adventure is even more thrilling as we embark on a challenging journey to conquer the Kedarkantha Summit. The ascent is steep and demanding, taking you through dense forests, offering glimpses of mountain valleys, ranges, and towering pine trees. As you ascend, you'll be captivated by the beauty of wispy clouds and the majestic views of the Dhauladhar range, Chainsheel Pass, Har ki Dun valley, Rupin valley, Swargarohini, Black Peak, Bandarpoonch, and other captivating peaks like Gangotri, Yamnotri, Jorkanden, and Draupadi ka Danda.
Upon reaching the summit, you can take a well-deserved break to soak in the breathtaking surroundings before making your way back to the campsite. The total ascent covers 3,850 meters. After resting and exploring the unique landscapes along the way, we'll prepare for the descent to Juda ka Talaab, where we'll spend the night.
Day 5 - Trek from Juda ka Talaab back to Sankri, Drive to Dehradun:
As we bid farewell to this incredible journey, we trek from Juda ka Talaab back to Sankri. Along the way, you'll be treated to majestic Himalayan views, with snow-clad peaks enhancing the beauty of the landscape. The morning sun casting its glow on the meadows and pine trees will add to the trek's charm. You'll have the opportunity to capture the stunning beauty of Har ki Doon and its picturesque meadows.
This being the last day of the Kedarkantha Trek, it might be a bit emotional. Ensure you've packed your belongings, and then we'll embark on a drive from Sankri to Dehradun, concluding this memorable adventure.
