By Train:

➔ Thе nеarеst railway station to Manali is Jogindеr Nagar Railway Station, but it is not wеll-connеctеd to major citiеs. The most convenient option is to reach Chandigarh or Pathankot railway stations, which arе wеll-connеctеd to major cities in India.

➔ From Chandigarh or Pathankot, you can take a bus or hirе a taxi to reach Manali. The journey from Chandigarh or Pathankot to Manali by road takes around 8-10 hours depending on the road conditions and traffic.

 

By Road:

➔ Manali is wеll-connеctеd by road to major cities and towns in North India. You can reach Manali by bus, car, or motorcyclе. The most common route to rеach Manali by road is from Dеlhi via Chandigarh or from Pathankot.

Itinerary For Zanskar and Leh Bike Trip from Manali

1

Day 1 - Delhi to Manali Departure

  • Today we will start our journey from Delhi to Manali by bus after 6 in the evening. 
  • This will be an overnight journey from Delhi to Manali.

Day 2 - Manali To Jispa

  • We will reach Manali by the next day in the morning and then we will embark on a journey towards Jispa. 
  • On the way to Jispa, we will pass through the Atal Tunnel, Solang Valley, and the picturesque villages of Lahaul Valley. 
  • Jispa is a small village, located at an elevation of 3,200 meters. We will reach here by evening. 
  • Check in to your camp/hotel for dinner followed by an overnight stay.

Day 3 - Jispa To Padum via Gonbo Rangjon

  • After having breakfast at a hotel/camp in Jispa we will head towards Padum. 
  • Today we will start the main ride to Zanskar. This journey involved crossing the Shinku la Pass which connects Zanskar and Himachal. 
  • This trip from Jispa to Padum also involves a few major water crossings. 
  • Crossing Gonbo Rangjon and Purne on the way, we will reach Padum by evening. 
  • Check in to your hotel/camp and have dinner followed by an overnight stay.

Day 4 - Padum To Kargil

  • We will start our ride towards Kargil after breakfast at the hotel/camp. 
  • On the way to Kargil, we will cross Pensi La and Suru Valley.
  • This will be a long journey passing Ladakh’s scenic areas and we will stay in Kargil for the night. 
  • This day includes dinner and breakfast.

Day 5 - Kargil To Leh

  • Wake up early for the journey towards Leh from Kargil. 
  • Have breakfast and embark on a journey towards Lamayuru from Kargil via Mulbek, Namika La and Fotu La. 
  • The distance between Leh and Lamayuru is around 125 kilometres and the route connecting both these places passes through Hangroo Loops and Nimmu. 
  • On the way, we will cover a few prime attractions like Gurudwara Pathir Sahib, Magnetic Hills, and a River Confluence. 
  • After this long journey, we will reach Leh in the evening and check in to the hotel for an overnight stay. 
  • Have your dinner at the hotel and retire for the day.

Day 6 - Leh To Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass

  • After having breakfast at the hotel, we will start our journey towards Nubra Valley. 
  • This journey towards Nubra Valley from Leh involves passing through the Khardung La Pass, the World’s highest motorable Pass. 
  • We will spend some time here at the Khardung La Top and then head towards Diskit Monastery for excellent views of Nubra Valley. 
  • We will also stop at the Hundar Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a double-humped
  • Camel ride.
  • Check-in your camps/cottages for an overnight. 
  • Enjoy a lip-smacking dinner and retire for the day.

Day 7 - Nubra to Pangong Tso via Shyok

  • Have your breakfast at your camp/cottage before leaving for Pangong Tso from Leh. 
  • By late afternoon, we will reach Pangong Tso. This scenic lake is renowned for offering serene views. The lake also changes its color around 4 to 5 times. 
  • Today you will stay in camps at Pangong and the stay also includes dinner for today.

Day 8 - Pangong to Leh Via Chang La

  • Catch the sight of a beautiful sunrise in the morning, have breakfast, and get ready for a journey back to Leh. 
  • On the way, we will pass through the world’s highest motorable road, Chang La located at 5350 meters in height. 
  • We will reach Leh by evening and today you can explore the cafes and local market. 
  • This is our last day in Leh, shop for souvenirs and gifts for your family and friends. 
  • Head back to your hotel by evening, have dinner, and stay overnight in Leh.

Day 9 - Leh to Jispa

  • After having breakfast, we will leave for Jispa from Leh. 
  • The first 30 kilometers will involve driving on a straight road known as Moore Plains.
  • We will have lunch at Pang and resume the journey passing through 2 mountain passes Nakee La at an altitude of 4739 meters and Lachung La at an altitude of 5065 meters. 
  • This journey also involves passing through Gata Loops before reaching Sarchu, located at a height of 4669 meters, this is a series of 21 hairpin bends. 
  • On the way, we will also cross the Baralacha-La pass at an elevation of 4892 meters. 
  • After reaching Jispa, we will check in to our camp/hotel. 
  • Enjoy a lip-smacking dinner at the hotel/camp and stay overnight.

Day 10 - Jispa to Manali

  • Wake up early and embark on a journey back to Manali after breakfast. 
  • Before reaching Manali, we will pass through Solang Valley and Atal Tunnel and our bike ride will complete after reaching Manali. 
  • We will board our AC Semi semi-sleeper bus from Manali for an overnight journey towards Delhi.

Day 11 - Reach Delhi

  • You will reach Delhi by the next morning and it’s time to bid goodbye to your new friends. 
  • Head back to your hometown with a bag full of memories.
