Day 1 - Drive from Dehradun to Gangori/Kuflon | Drive 7-8hrs(150km)
Driving from Dehradun to kuflon the basecamp for mukta is at the altitude of 4600ft.which is going to take 7-8hrs.you will be passing through the banks of Bhagirathi river which further becomes Ganga, the beautiful forest view to greet you. The base camp is near the Asi Ganga river.
Day 2 - Drive to Kuflon and trek to Shiladuni
The trek starts from kuflon(4600ft) to (6782ft) it takes 4hrs for 4km which is the well-marked trail. The path gets steeper as move forward for 1.5km. It’s a flexuous way with the pine trees all around. Then its an upward rise for another 2.5km.this is the point where forest and its magic begin with rhododendrons, brown oak, maple trees, green oak and spotting various birds and animal.
You will be crossing a stream after that way open up through the forest from where you will lead to the campsite in the clearing surrounded by the snow cladded mountains, you will be spotting some shepherd huts and few streams around the campsite.
Have your dinner in the middle of mountains beauty.
Day 3 - Trek from Shiladuni to Chaithathar
Wake up early if you want to experience the tranquil atmosphere of the morning in the Himalayas, have your breakfast and get ready for the trek to Chaithathar the trail is going to be steeper and bit difficult passing through the combination of oak and maple trees and a stream by waking on wooden logs.
Refill your water bottles from the stream and ascend towards the kuari(7781ft) from where the Chaithathar is 3km and its 3hrs to cover up. The way is going to be steep as you move and after some time back to normal trail path passing by oak and bamboo trees.
You will be reaching your campsite at Chaithathar which is in the middle of the forest. the campsite is also known as the Himalayan monal, this campsite must be exciting for you due to its wonderful location.
Have your dinner and rest in your tents.
Day 4 - Trek from Chaithathar to Mukta Tal
Wake up with the enchanting view of the forest and have your breakfast on time.
Today you will be ascending from Chaithathar to Mukta Tal at an elevation of (9600ft to 10,800ft) it is a 4km trek which will take 4hrs. The trail is gradual and it will lead you to the first glimpse of Mt Bandar Poonch, Kalang and nag tibba.
Walking upwards you will spot a small hill pass through it walk for one hour and reach Mukta Tal. the small pond with its bewitching beauty enjoy your time there and pitch your tents to make yourself comfortable.
Day 5 - Trek from Mukta Tal to Mukta Top
You will be reaching Mukta Tal top today at an altitude of 11,838ft. Which will take 6-7hrs and the distance is 9km.climb up to Mukta top . while hiking up you will see the Bandrapoonch clearly visible to you.you will be spotting a lake ‘SIYARI TAL’ .from the top you can have the holistic view of the place and the peaks Gangotri, Bandar Poonch,kalanag, Nag tibba.
Descending by the same route to kuari pass.
Day 6 - Trek from kuari to Kaflon
The trek back to kuari is 6km which will take 4hrs. By the same view and one more time confronting the beautiful forest and wildlife.
After reaching kuflon, drive back to Dehradun which is 6hr. Journey of 155km.

The best time to visit mukhta top is all around the year. The idle time is December to May, with the splendid view of mountain peaks like Bandarpoonch,Gangotri,kalaNag and Nag Tibba. In winters the temperature ranges from (-2°C to -5 °C ) and in summer the temperature ranges from ( 8°C to 13°C ).
