Sarutal trek Overview

This location is hidden in the Himalayas. This is a serene lake situated at a height of 4,200 meters inside the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. Its surrounding is very beautiful and that’s why it attracts a lot of tourists every year. There are many more surrounding peaks like black peak, Bandar Punch Peak, Swargarohini Peak, and other snow-covered mountains. 


The base area of this trek is Sankri. This area is famous for being the base camp for more than 24 treks as well as for markets. The ecological beauty of this area consists of meadows, streams, dense forests, and abundant flora and fauna. 
One will also pass through the Kedarkantha trek during this journey.

Itinerary For Sarutal trek

Day 1 - Dehradun to Sankri

Sankri

  • A distance 0f 210 km will be covered in 8-9 hours. 1920 metres will be reached.

Day 2 - Trek from Sankri to Kedarkantha base

Kedarkantha base

  • A height of 3400 meters will be covered in 6-7 hours. The journey will be through Juda ka Talab.

Day 3 - Trek from Kedarkantha base to Kedarkantha summit

Kedarkantha summit

  • This journey will cover 3800 meters and the journey via Dunda Thach will take again 7 km.

Day 4 - Trek from Dunda thach to taloti thach

Taloti Thach

  • This trek covers 11 km in 5-6 hours.

Day 5 - Trek from Taloti to sirutal

  • A distance of 4200 meters will be covered in 5-6 hours.

Day 6 - Trek from sarutal to taloti thach

Taloti thach

  • A distance of 10 km is covered in 5-6  hours.

Day 7 - Trek from Taloti thach to Taluka market

Taluka market

  • A 13 km journey in 6-7 hours and the drive to Sankri on the same day in 1-2 hours.
