Situated at a distance of 8 km from the main city of Kodaikanal, the Dolphin's Nose presents a bird's eye view of the scenic landscape in the surrounding mountainous area.It is a flat rock protruding from the mountain, overseeing a profound cliff, with its shape resembling that of the snout of a dolphin. Positioned at an elevation of 6600 feet, the captivating place stands as one of the central destinations for tourists venturing Kodaikanal.The 3-4 hour expedition to the Dolphin’s Nose can be embarked upon at either 8 am or 2 pm. A seasoned guide, well acquainted with the terrain, will navigate you through the hike.The summit offers a sweeping vista of the area below and on cloudless days, you might be able to discern the Periyakulam Town as well as the Vaigai Lake. The hike isn't an overly arduous one and you may also opt for a diversion to the diminutive village of Vellagavi, which lies along the same path.
