By Train

➔ Reach the Haridwar railway station, well-connected to all prime cities in India.

➔ The Doon Express, Kumbha Express, or Mussoorie Express all help you reach here.

➔ Take a bus or cab from the railway station to reach the base camp in Govindghat. You can take a train to Rishikesh, from which the distance to Govindghat is the same.

Itinerary For Valley Of Flower Trek With Badrinath And Hemkund Sahib

Day 1 - Reach Govindghat/Joshimath from Haridwar

  • Meet our representatives at Haridwar Railway Station at 6 a.m.
  • You start the uphill drive to Govindghat through Joshimath to reach Haridwar. The entire journey covers approximately 290 km in 9–10 hours. 
  • You drive along the Bhagirath highway along the Alaknanda River, with the valley getting deeper and more beautiful.
  • In the late evening, you will reach the base camp, situated at 1,828 meters in height.
  • Settle into your tent, rest, and acclimatize to the height while enjoying the Hathi Parvat view.

Day 2 - Head from Govindghat/Joshimath and reach Ghangaria

  • Wake up to the beautiful sunrise and have a delicious breakfast.
  • Time to start the first day of your uphill trek to Ghangaria at a height of 2926 meters.
  • The next phase will be a gradual ascent, and you can cover the entire trek in 5–6 hours.
  • The trek is a well-defined rocky trail along the Ganga River and luscious green forests.
  • You can even ride a motor up to the Holy Hemkund Sahib with a gradual incline.
  • The trek of the day ends in Ghangaria, where you will settle in a guest house or hotel. 
  • After enjoying a delicious hot meal here, you can go exploring the town.
  • Have a light dinner and tuck in for the night.

Day 3 - Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers and Back

  • Wake up at dawn and witness the stunning sunrise.
  • On your second day, you will start your trek to the Valley of Flowers after gaining energy from your nutritious and filling breakfast.
  • As you trek to a height of 3503 meters, you will witness beautiful sights along the trail, which is easy with steep and gradual paths.
  • The trek takes approximately 6 hours, at the end of which you reach the Valley of Flowers National Park. Get your permits and head inside to see the stunning old bridge built over a stream passing through the park.
  • Trek through the bridge to enter the serene valley, full of over 500 varieties of flowers endemic to the region. 
  • Enjoy a delicious and hot lunch and start your trek back to Ghangaria. 
  • The trek back lets you see a beautiful sunset while also enjoying the beautiful Himalayan peaks: Bhyundar Khal, Gauri Parvat, Nilgiri Parvat, and Ratanban.
  • After coming back, settle in for the night after having your dinner.

Day 4 - Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and Back

  • Wake up early to trek to Hemkund Sahib at a height of 4300 meters.
  • Trek through the steep path and witness a small but stunning waterfall. 
  • The trek towards Hemkund Sahib is a bit challenging, and oxygen levels also go down. Ensure you take breaks in between to avoid getting sick.
  • Take a small break for lunch.
  • After 9 hours of trekking, you reach Hemkund Sahib. 
  • Enjoy peace and tranquility while offering your prayers at the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, the meditation place of Guru Gobind Singh.
  • If you are lucky, you might witness the highest Himalayan flower, Brahma Kamal, growing only at 10–15,000 feet.
  • Relax and take in the beauty of the place before you head back to Ghangaria.
  • The descent to Ghangaria is steep and challenging, but the vistas will keep you motivated. 
  • Reach your destination, have dinner, and sleep tight!

Day 5 - Trek from Ghangaria to Badrinath and Back to Joshimath

  • Wake up to the beautiful sunrise.
  • Trek at a height of 9,600 feet, and it will take around 4 hours to cover the 9-kilometer trek plus 4 kilometers of driving.
  • Descend to Pulna and head to Badrinath, where you can visit the famous Badrinath Temple. 
  • Have a hearty lunch and head to Joshimath, where you will stay overnight.

Day 6 - Head Back to Haridwar

  • Wake up to enjoy a beautiful sunrise and have some delicious breakfast.
  • From Joshimath, you will head to Govindghat and then to Haridwar. 
  • It is an 8–9-hour drive ending your Valley of Flowers trek with Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib.
