Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, part of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is also situated in Dwarka.Nestled on the western tip of the Saurashtra peninsula in the Indian state Gujarat, Dwarka is an ancient city of India. Also called as Devbhoomi Dwarka .It was believed that the city was immersed by the ocean and the result of excavation proves that the city did exist there.

Summers fall from the month of marchand the heat of the sun can be felt till the month of June.It has been observed that days are hot during these months where the temperature goes down in night and is comparatively cool.It is suggested to carry cotton garment during Summer.The temperature fluctuates between 23 to 42 degree celsius.As time passes the temperature rises so it is not advisable to visit in Dwarka.

Rainfall in Dwarka begins from the end of June and continues through september.Dwarka has coastline so receives a considerable amount of rainfall.It gets humid here during this time but the city looks beautiful than ever.The rainfall brings all shades of green to live.The temperature hovers between 27 to 35 degree celsius.

There is no winter season in Dwarka. The weather is pleasantly warm throughout the year. As geographically Dwarka is close to the tropics no harsh winters are experienced. Dwarka is well connected to all parts of India. Dwarka Tourism is growing day by day so the facility to reach here is also increasing.Here is guide to reach Dwarka:

By Flight:

The nearest airport is Jamnagar Airport, It is also the parent district of Dwarka and is owned by the Air Force of India. It has power to serve 800 passengers every day with the facility of parking two large aircraft at a time. Right at this time, it is linked to Mumbai.Visitors can choose the Mumbai route if they want to skip the road journey from their way to Dwarka. Another option one has is to reach the airport at Ahmedabad, which has a much better link both  nationally and internationally and then take a rail or road trip to Dwarka.

By Bus:

Buses from Dwarka to Surat, Rajkot, and Ahmedabad are provided by Gujarat state transport corporation. Also you have another option , private operators are available at the bus station.They run air-conditioned, double-decker and sleeper buses.

By Train:

from Viramgam to Okha runs through Dwarka station, a  metre gauge track runs. The broad gauge railway line that starts from Ahmedabad passes through Dwarka railway station which is 137 kilometres after Jamnagar and runs till Okha.

Can We see underwater Dwarka?

Yes you certainly can witness the remnants of this lost city.Scuba diving along the coast of Dwarka and the island Which we also call ‘Beyt Dwarka’, one can get to witness some of the remains of the long lost ancient Dwarka that were recently excavated. Beyt Dwarka is a bit off the coast of Dwarka in Gujarat where remains of the ancient Dwarka have been found till some extent through some archeological mission that began in the few years back. The beaches recently started allowing this activity for visitors to explore the remains.

Day 1-

Check-in at your wonderful stay. Pray at the famous Dwarkadhish temple, It is a 2500 years old temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. Then move to Nageshwar Jyotirlinga temple, one of the 12, the magnificent temple known not only for its religious importance but also for its architecture and history. In the evening, relax at Dwarka beach.

Day 2-

Start your day by visiting the Gomti Ghat, then leading to Beyt Dwarka just t30 km from the city, an island very known for its beaches, coral reefs and temples. Then head back to Dwarka and go to Dwarka Lighthouse to watch the sunset.

What are the local Transports of Dwarka?

The city is well linked to by the government buses. Autos are an easier option,It is suggested that fixing a rate before hiring is always a good idea. Cycle rickshaws are excellent for reaching places with small lanes.The local cycle rickshaw wala is well aware of all the lanes of dwarka.
