Sangama and Mekedatu:-

Sangama is a confluence point where the Arkavathi and Kaveri rivers meet. This serene spot is not just a treat for the eyes, but also a significant religious site. A short distance from Sangama lies Mekedatu, where the Kaveri River flows through a narrow gorge, creating a stunning natural spectacle. The name "Mekedatu" translates to "goat's leap" in Kannada, as the gorge is so narrow that, according to local legend, a goat could leap across it. Exploring these sites, either by walking or taking a coracle ride, is a memorable experience that brings you closer to nature's marvels.

Chunchi Falls is a popular spot for picnics and relaxation, offering visitors a chance to unwind amidst nature's beauty.

For history aficionados and trekkers alike, Kabbaladurga presents an intriguing opportunity. This hill fortress stands as a testimony to the region's historical significance. Steeped in history and architectural elegance, the Kanakapura Palace (also known as the Kanakapura Palace Resort) offers visitors a chance to experience royal luxury. The palace's grandeur and the meticulously maintained grounds provide a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the past. While the palace itself may not be open to the public, the lush gardens and the scenic beauty of the estate are worth exploring. The palace serves as a reminder of Kanakpura's regal heritage.

Chunchanakatte Falls:-

A hidden gem in the outskirts of Kanakapura, Chunchanakatte Falls is a sight to behold. The waterfall, formed by the Cauvery River, flows down in multiple tiers, creating a mesmerizing cascade. The lush greenery and the soothing sound of water make it a perfect spot for relaxation and rejuvenation. Staff were rude and afternoon lunch and dinner were pathetic. Nevertheless, we had a delicious breakfast and an unforgettable one. It's purely meant for pairs and not for families.

The camp stay was excellent with pleasant weather. Only the fare from camp to the main road was charged high around 400 RS per person by auto which was around 3-4 km which I felt was very high. They should have some transport to the main road for a better price.

Superb experience. We booked day out package but a night-stay package is highly recommended. The staff is very nice and helpful. Though we missed trekking as they told us it is available either in the morning or evening hours, they should have suggested taking us trekking in the first go.
