Abbey Falls

Abbey Falls joins river Kaveri, and is set amidst the verdant coffee plantations. It is known for its serene ambience.  It is a great getaway to soak in peace in the realm of nature for those seeking solitude and for adventure lovers, it is a paradise for trekking.  Abbey Falls offers a great view from the hanging bridge. Along with a number of thrilling activities to do, the waterfall is a tranquil spot to make the most of your holiday, especially during the monsoons.

1. Nagarhole National Park: One of the famous tiger reserves in India is the prominent national park . It is replete with a thick forest cover and has a population of exotic wildlife like elephants, Indian leopards, deer  tigers, gaur, etc.  It is a must visit to enjoy a fun-filled recreational day for wildlife lovers.
2. Omkareshwara Temple: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is a popular ancient shrine. The temple attracts a number of visitors. It was built in a mix of Gothic and Islamic style. As an act of penance the temple was built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra II. Near Abbey Falls, it is one of the most peaceful places to visit.
3. Raja’s Seat

 Raja’s seat, literally meaning the seat of the kings. If you are seeking some serenity, it is a spot not to be missed.  Raja’s Seat is one of the famous places to visit near Abbey Falls. Originally it was a place where the king of Coorg used to enjoy the scenic beauty.

4) Irpu Falls: Cascades along the Brahmagiri Mountain range Irpu Falls is a picturesque waterfall. It is also famous as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls. It boasts of its pristine cold waters. This waterfall is famous for sheer natural beauty and also because of its religious significance.

5) Raja’s Tomb: It contains the mortal remains of the royal Kodavas. In Coorg, Raja’s Tomb is an important tourist destination. Built in the Mohammedan style, the tomb has an idol of Lord Shiva which is placed inside it. It has the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture and it's great to visit for admiring it. O6) Namdroling Monastery: Namdroling Monastery is also called the Golden Temple. It is hailed as the largest teaching centre of the school of Tibetan Buddhism. Namdroling Monastery showcases a brilliant example of Tibetan architecture and artwork. It has a beautiful ornate design and murals which can be appreciated by the visitors.

7) Madikeri Fort: It stands as an imposing fort on a hillock.  When you are near Abbey Falls, Madikeri Fort is a nice place to visit. The historical landmark offers one of the most picturesque views of the town. It boasts of the past era.
