Highlights of Dubare Elephant Camp

Camping

Even more than exploring the Elephant Camp for tuskers, for nature lovers an excellent way to spend the
weekend is camping on the bank of river Kaveri. Embraced with the electric fences to keep the campers
protected from the tuskers and other elephants certain picnic and camping spots are there.
Elephant Safari
In the Dubare Elephant Camp elephant rides can be booked from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 4 PM to 5
PM. In and around the forest, the ride lasts for about 45 to 60 minutes.

From atop of the elephant, the great perimeter of the jungle can be viewed by every traveller. Guiding you
about everything and anything, the trained specialists, walk side by side.

Bathe An Elephant
Tuskers gather at the Kaveri river bank, for bathing and drinking the water. Also present with them is the
mahout. So, for about 45 minutes to bathe the elephants travellers are given a chance.

Best time to visit Dubare Elephant Camp

1. Kaveri River: The Kannadigas are very sentimental for Kaveri river. From Brahmagiri Hill at Kodagu in
Karnataka it starts. In the whole of South India, in fact, it’s the fourth largest river. With about 8 tributaries
its basin is around 31,334 sq. mi. .
By watching the local fishermen catch fish every tourist finds relaxation here . River rafting is also allowed
at times other than that. Therefore, nearby Dubare Elephant Camp, in summers those who need
adventurous sports can try visiting this river.

2. Kushalnagar: In Coorg on the banks of Kaveri river, it’s a town. And it is around 14-15 KM away from
the camp by road. With a population of twenty seven thousand people approximately area wise,
Kushalnagar is 8 KM sq. Kannada, Are Bhashe, and Kodava Takk are the languages herein that locals
speak. Also , people speaking simple or broken English or Hindi can be found in many places.
3. Abbey Falls: For the tourists it will take an hour or more from the camp by road, for visiting this
extravagant waterfall in Madikeri. By the locals, this fall is also known as the Abbi Falls. From the 70 feet,
the cascade of the lapping water drops down, inviting the visitors to stand and watch the beauty.
The growing importance of this quaint town in Karnataka caused it .
