Hemis National Park is a high-altitude national park located in the eastern part of Ladakh, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The park covers an area of 4,400 square kilometers and is named after the Hemis Monastery, which is located within its boundaries.
One of the main attractions of Hemis National Park is its diverse range of wildlife, including the elusive snow leopard, which is the park's flagship species. Other wildlife that can be spotted in the park include the Asiatic ibex, Tibetan wolf, Eurasian brown bear, and Himalayan blue sheep.
Apart from wildlife, Hemis National Park is also known for its beautiful landscape, which includes snow-clad mountains, deep gorges, and high-altitude lakes. Some of the popular trekking routes in the park include the Markha Valley trek and the Stok Kangri trek.
