Best time to visit Pak Ou Caves

The Pak Ou Caves are available to tourists all year, and the river is passable both during the wet and dry seasons. The caverns may get uncomfortably crowded at the dry season peak, between November and January: chartering a private longtail boat for your group and leaving early may help you beat the throng. The shared boats depart in the morning, but one may book a private boat and go in the afternoon to avoid crowds (Pak Ou caverns are accessible from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
