  • Today we begin the day by climbing up to Osla hamlet, which is situated approximately a hundred meters above the Supin River on a steep slope.
  • It can take 30 to 40 minutes to complete the steepest portion of the entire walk, which is the first trail to Osla.
  • Terraced farms dot the terrain all around Osla. The final village before Har ki Dun is Osla.
  • The river is seen far below as we traverse a few fields and the track gradually rises higher from Osla. A few distances below the trail, to the right, we see a temple. We walk by patches of sunflowers, fleece flowers, and orchids.
  • Because today's trip is brief, there will be time to adjust to the high altitude and be ready for tomorrow's trip.
  • We may take a break and enjoy the sun at Kalkatidhar's lovely campsite.
  • The trekking route has benefited from the prohibition on camping at Har Ki Dun since it provides for greater comfort while still protecting the area's natural beauty.

Day 4 - Har Ki Dun trek

  • We visit Har Ki Dun and Marinda Tal, a small lake formation because of the blocking rock across the river stream, which is located 2 KM ahead of Har Ki Dun.
  • Shortly after we begin our hike, we come upon a small tea store next to a nearby hidden and thunderous waterfall.
  • A view of the snow-covered peaks of the Ruinsara valley, including Black mountain, the highest mountain in the area, may be had by arriving at the junction of the rivers Supin and Ruinsara.
  • We reach the last section, which is inside a forest, after going higher up following the river's true right. Later, the woodland opens up to a magnificent panoramic area.
  • The vast Har Ki Dun valley, which stretches up to the foot of Swargarohini Peak, is separated from us by a little ridge to our right that is dotted with a few scattered Himalayan birch trees.
  • After arriving at the end, take some time to unwind and take in the surroundings before continuing the hike the remaining 2-3 km to Marinda Tal.
  • The trail then progressively climbs until it reaches the lake, which is created by a large boulder blocking the river that flows from the foot of the Borasu Pass.
  • We take the same road back to Kalkatidhar after our brief visit to Marinda Tal because. It gets much simpler to walk downward from here.
  • We return in the early evening and spend the night at the campsite.

  • We can see a route to our left, indicated by the sight of a bridge across the creek, not far from this crossroads. Seldom used, this trail connects to the Ruinsara Lake trail.
  • Once in Osla, one can explore the hamlet, mingle with the inhabitants, and become immersed in Garhwali culture.
  • From here, we carry on to Puani Garat, our previous campground, where we may enjoy some sun time.
  • Spend the night at Puani Garat Campsite.
