The majestic Aga Khan Palace, situated on 19 acres of land in the Yerwada neighborhood of Pune, was constructed in 1982 by Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III.

The palace is regarded as one of the most significant historical sites in India, along with the Indian liberation movement, and its origins are steeped in the past. As hunger struck Pune severely in the early 1980s, the palace was constructed to aid the underprivileged in the region.
