Highlights of Anitkabir

The Freedom Tower.

You must cross a driveway that passes through the park to get to a set of stairs while approaching the Antkabir from Tandoan Square. You will be greeted by the Freedom and Independence towers as you walk up the steps.

The teenager, who is standing next to the entrance to the Independence tower on the right, is a representation of the Turkish people, guardian, and army. On the other side, the Eagle Coat of Arms, which dates back to the Seljuk dynasty, symbolises Turkish might and has Atatürk's words written year by year.

The Freedom Tower, 2.

A horse's head can be found inside the Freedom Tower, which is on the left.

Rights tower defence

The Defender of Rights tower is located on the left of the open, spacious gathering area where Lion's Alley terminates. A wall relief depicting a young man leaning on a sword and reaching out his hand can be found in this tower, which was built in recognition of the organisations that Atatürk federated. This hand motion represents defiance against foreign hegemony, while the attitude represents thwarting the enemy.

(4) The Mehmetcik (Turkish Soldier) Tower

The MEHMETCIK (Turkish Soldier) TOWER, which depicts a soldier departing for the front lines of battle and leaving his home behind, is located directly across from the Defense of Rights tower. A number of Atatürk's quotes, some of which are directed at the nation's women, are inscribed here as well.

Construction of the auxiliary buildings and mausoleum was done during the second phase, which lasted from 29 September 1945 to 8 August 1950.

- Third Phase: Building tasks for the sarcophagus installation, the mausoleum's stone pavement, the steps of the staircase, and the stone paving for Tören Meydani and Aslanli Yol were completed during the third phase of construction. By September 12th of that year, 1950, it was finished.

The "Monument Block," on the other hand, is split into three areas: the Mausoleum, the Ceremonial Ground, and the Lions Alley. In addition to statues, this monument features numerous reliefs depicting the Turkish Independence War, Atatürk's life, and the Republic.

Speaking of special architectural components, you will be fascinated to learn that the "Monument Block" is made of red marbles brought from Hatay, black marble.
