The Dubai Fountain is a captivating combination of water, light, and music. It was designed by California-based WET Design, the same company that created the fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
The fountain can shoot water up to 500 feet (152 meters) into the air. It is set in the 30-acre (12-hectare) Burj Khalifa Lake and performs a breathtaking display of music, water, and light. The fountain is programmed to perform a variety of water displays, each choreographed to a different type of music.
The fountain is illuminated by 6,600 colored lights and 25 colored projectors. It also has 5 circles of fog and two spotlights which create a magnificent mist screen.
On average, the Dubai Fountain performs over 30 shows each night, with performances lasting between 3-5 minutes each. The shows start in the early evening and continue until midnight, with the last show beginning at 11:00 pm.
