Barren Island is a small island located in the Andaman Sea, just off the coast of Havelock Island in India. It is one of the few active volcanoes in India and a popular destination for tourists and adventurers alike.
The island has a unique and rugged beauty, with its steep cliffs, rugged terrain, and stark volcanic landscape. The island is uninhabited, and its only inhabitants are the many species of flora and fauna that have adapted to the harsh environment.
Barren Island's volcano is constantly active, with small eruptions occurring regularly. The last major eruption occurred in 2017, which caused significant damage to the island's vegetation and wildlife. However, the island has since recovered, and the ecosystem has continued to thrive.
The highlight of Barren Island is undoubtedly the active volcano located on its southern side. It is the only active volcano in India and one of the few active ones in the world. Visitors can witness the awe-inspiring sight of the volcano spewing ash and smoke, and molten lava flowing down its sides. A visit to Barren Island is incomplete without taking a boat ride around the volcano, which offers a breathtaking view of the island's rugged coastline and the majestic volcano.
Apart from the volcano, Barren Island is also known for its rich marine life. The crystal-clear waters surrounding the island are home to a diverse range of marine creatures, including colorful fish, coral reefs, and even sharks. Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities on the island, and visitors can explore the underwater world and witness the beauty of the ocean firsthand.

Romantic Candle Light Dinner In Andaman
This was a perfect romantic dinner we had on our 1st wedding anniversary :) location is the best as while having food one can enjoy the best view and soothing sound of waves right in front of your table set up. Though the entire staff is very efficient and interactive, there is a scope for improving food and service standards.
