The Governor fell in love with Dona and when his infuriated wife found out about the affair, she commanded that Dona should be stripped, bound and fell over the cliff into the sea to wear only the string of pearls that the Governor had gifted her.
Local fishermen can enthrall you with marvelous ghost stories to relate to this interesting incident. Some state that Dona's ghost appears on moonlit nights while others say that the ghost appears at nights. The spirit had seemed to rise from the sea at midnight wearing nothing but the necklace.
