Situated in the heart of Goa's capital, Miramar Beach in Panjim is the longest beach in the state. Extending as long as 2 kilometres, the beach is on the confluence of the Mandovi River and the Arabian sea, affording excellent marine views. Portuguese colonists in Goa originally called Miramar Beach Portal de Gaspar Dias; however, the name was later altered to "Miramar," which means "to look at the sea."
A row of palm palms surrounds the silvery stretch of white sand on one side, which is bordered by the ocean's deep blue waves. The beach is a favourite among families and newlyweds alike and is the ideal location for picnics, barbecues, and casual get-togethers.The beach transforms into a haven for birdwatchers in the winter since many migratory species, such as plovers and gulls, can be seen here during this time.
The beach offers a variety of watersport possibilities, including boat rides and dolphin sightings, making it the ideal getaway for thrill seekers. Along the beach at Miramar, there are numerous cafés, bars, and restaurants.
