Constructed in 1612 this fort was obstructed two times by the son of Shivaji Sambhaji in 1683 AD and Bhonsle in 1739 AD and then in 1741 AD, it was taken by Portuguese until Goa became an independent state. It is surely an attractive place for the people that love historical things.

This fortress offers a magical view when the sun sets down in the evening. For all movie lovers too, this place is an absolute attraction as this fort was used as the setting for the famous Bollywood movie ‘Dil Chahta Hai ‘.

The church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception is located in Panaji. It presents a magical blend of Portuguese–Baroque and Goan styles. This church was created originally in 1541 and later it was rebuilt in 1619.

The church is also known as the ‘Crown of Panaji ‘because of its simple interiors, impressive façade and creative carvings. The most popular feature of this church is its unique zigzag stairway as well as the Augustinian bell. 

This church lies on the top of hills and is well-lit at night making it a thing of beauty for the tourists. Nossa Senhora da Imaculada Conceicao is the main altar dedicated to our Lady of Immaculate Conception. There are alters on the right and left too. Alter on the right side is dedicated to Our Lady of Rosary and the altar in left side is dedicated to the Crucificition of Christ.

Dudhsagar waterfall is the Hindi name for a phrase that means ‘sea of milk ‘. This waterfall is located on the river Mandovi and measures 1017 ft in height and 100 ft in width. This waterfall gives you a chance to participate in activities like trekking or jeep safari to the waterfall.

To experience the magical view of this waterfall you can come to visit in monsoons as at that time of the year waterfall is in its best form. Make it one of your best moments in life as you see India’s tallest waterfall gushing through the stones in white milk-like color.

Lamgau caves situated in the palm caves, carved out of laterite will surely give you an off-the-wall experience. You can be a witness to all the creatively magical carvings. Moreover, a Shiva Lingam, Tulsi, and a small image of Nandi are also installed in the courtyard of this cave.

An interesting temple dedicated to Lord Ravalnath can also be found at Mulgao. The caves were meant as a house for the monks. It also shows an interesting transition from Buddhist to Hindu religion.

The caves are surrounded by areca nut plantation so you may have to trek through rocky land. It is highly recommended to visit the caves with a local guide to understand more about these beautiful caves.
