The Benog Tibba Trek takes place in Mussoorie's Benog Mountain Quail Sanctuary. The sanctuary, which was founded in 1993, is home to the nearly endangered Mountain Quail.
The trek begins at the campsite near the sanctuary's forest office. You're in the wilderness from the moment you arrive at the first campsite. Trekking through dense green trees with the entrancing sounds of birds makes this a safe trek for beginners.
The vision of the Yamuna valley below opens up as the trail exits the jungle, with patches of villages and farms dotting the hills. During the spring, this part of the trail is covered with flowers, which almost obscures the grass!
It's no surprise that this remote route is a famous weekend getaway from Delhi.
When you reach the summit, you can see the expanse of the Yamuna valley below you. In the reach, the snow-capped peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas tall and strong.. On a clear day, you could be able to see Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Nanda Devi, and Dronagiri. You could also see Nag Tibba hill ahead of you. This panoramic view is well worth the effort of the day's journey!
