Dudhsagar Waterfall Trek Overview

Nature is very diverse with a wide variety of plants, animals, waterfalls, and landscapes. One of the beautiful creations of nature is the Dudhsagar waterfall which is located on the Mandovi River in the state of Goa. It is at an altitude of 320m and 30 m in width. The beauty of the waterfall is eye-catching. It is also known as the ‘Sea of Milk’; one of the tallest waterfalls of India.
Trekking to DudhSagar waterfall will stun you with its beauty. The waterfall is located in Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park amongst western ghats and it forms the border between Karnataka and Goa. The place is surrounded by a lush green forest rich in Biodiversity that one can witness during the trek.

Day 1 - Departure from Mumbai or Pune

Munbai, Pune

  • 10:00 AM: Meet at Dadar TT circle to start a journey to Pune in a cab
  • 03:00 AM: Reach Pune Railway station
  • 03:30 PM: Reporting time for people joining us from Pune
  • 04:00 PM: Catch train for an overnight train journey to Kulem

Day 2 - Visit Dudhsagar waterfall

Munbai

Explore the waterfall

  • Reach Kulem Railway Station around 5 AM to start Dudhsagar Trek
  • Have your breakfast to fuel your energy.
  • Visit the lovely Dudh Sagar waterfall by 10:00hrs
  • Explore the waterfall and spend some time appraising the beauty of the place.
  • Start trekking from Dudhsagar waterfall towards Kulem passing by Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary Jungle; it will take 4 hours to cross the jungle and multiple small water streams.
  • You have to reach the Kulem Railway station by 2 PM.
  • Have lunch and spend some time 
  • Head to Madgaon to catch the return train
  • Start return journey by Goa Express at 4:30 PM for a drop at Pune 
  • Catch a train at 4:45 PM for a drop at Mumbai

I pre-booked this trek from Banbanjara for our family trip. our pickup was delayed by half an hour but our guide was good and he managed the time, also he showed us some hidden places in the way of the trek and gave us breakfast and lunch. The trek was moderate and not so tough, just carry some polybags for keeping your mobile phone, and there was a good chance of rainfall.
