Kasol And Tosh Trek Highlights

  • Explore Chalal and surrounding areas as well!
  • Ideal for beginners as well as avid trekkers!
  • Camp alongside Parvati River and Tosh waterfall!

Kasol And Tosh Trek Overview

The Kasol Tosh Trek starts at Kasol, a small village located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is nestled deep in the scenic Parvati Valley and is fast emerging as a significant spot for tourists looking for budget traveling. The trekker can choose to undertake the trek at any time of the year as per his or her weather preference and the trek is an attractive prospect in all weathers, for all months, whether it be in December or in May. However, the trek can become slightly more challenging during the monsoons as the routes become slippery and dangerous. It is a short, easy trek, which even beginners can undertake.

The trek also takes you to Tosh, which has seen a recent spurt in tourist activity. Tosh has especially gained popularity in recent times and this trek presents an ideal opportunity to go sightseeing in the quaint town and explore it for souvenirs! On the first day of the camp, you also go for the short trek to Chalal, another major tourist attraction near Kasol.  The Kasol Tosh trek is a favorite amongst those seeking a backpacker’s adventure in Kasol or Kullu. If this is your first long-distance trek, it would be a great idea to plan ahead and start exercising a few weeks in advance. Especially since the Kasol Tosh trek can get steep in parts. And remember to carry enough energy supplements for the trek time! It is always better to carry foods containing sugar for energy, like chikki, plum cakes, energy bars, and especially some candy!

For the duration of the trek, you will experience camping - on a multiple-sharing basis - under the open skies in the towns of Kasol and Tosh. In Kasol, you will have the splendid experience of riverside camping, while in Tosh, the trekkers camp alongside the roaring Tosh waterfall and spend the night near its majestic beauty.

The trek starts at Kasol. You can reach Kasol by taking a train from Delhi to Bhuntar. From Bhuntar, you can either take a bus or hire a cab to Kasol. Alternatively, you can also fly to Dharamshala or Kullu, and from there you can simply take a bus to Kasol.
