Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary Wayanad, the second-largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala, consists of evergreen forests, bamboo thickets & plantations and is home to varieties of birds and animals. The Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, which is spread over 345 sq km, is also known as Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. This rain forest connects Nagarhole and Bandipur parks in Karnataka and Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu.
The sanctuary is about 97 km from Kozhikode town and is a home of rich flora and fauna, especially elephants, and is a project elephant site.
The Muthanga Wildlife Safari offers chances to watch the roaming animals. The sanctuary is full of tuskers, creepers, colorful birdies & butterflies and is also home to several kinds of deer, monkeys, and other animals.
Apart from the animals and birds, the sanctuary also has several medicinal plants that can cure many diseases.

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Muthanga. Sulthan Bathery is the nearest town and is 16 km away, and is about 97 km from Kozhikode town. You can reach the destination easily by private or public transport. Frequent buses are available.
