This lake is one of the most abundant saltwater lake along with a coastal lagoon in India. It is situated around 44 km far from the Puri district. It is amongst some of the most preferable ground for the migratory birds. This place is filled with all the species of birds including the heroines, sea eagles, jacana, flamingoes, and lastly the gray lay geese. This lake is a living paradise for the bird watchers. This place is also the one of the largest breeding colonies of flamingos in this region.
This place is considered as a great ecosystems namely the Chilika lake Sanctuary. It comprises a number of Irrawaddy dolphins that are different from the other dolphins in general. This place presents some of the most exotically exceptional views of the lake and its surroundings.
