Kuldhara Village is currently a heritage site that is looked after by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). It seems as though time has stopped in Kuldhara for the past 200 years as soon as you reach the grounds of this historic settlement. Straight, dusty streets with sporadic rows of mud dwellings, cul-de-sac lanes, sandstone walls, and a temple that the Paliwals once visited serve as living reminders of some dark history. The dry riverbed of Kakni is located east of the settlement and serves as a warning about the difficulties of supporting life there. An unidentified reason led to the overnight abandonment of a once-thriving village in North-Western India in 1825. The village's history stretches back to the 13th century. As you go through the ruins of the settlement in Kuldhara, you can observe the impacts of time on the earth. The location, however, has no magical explanation for its legend; rather, a cloak of melancholy hangs in the air, telling the sad story of its inhabitants, who were compelled to flee their original land in the dead of night.
