Patwon Ki Haveli

Jaisalmer, often known as the Golden City of India, is a stunning city in Rajasthan. The "Patwon Ki Haveli," commonly referred to as the House of Brocade Traders, is the most well-known attraction in this city. In Jaisalmer, there is a group of five sizable havelis called Patwon Ki Haveli. The first haveli, constructed in 1805 by Guman Chand Patwa, took the laborers about 55 years to complete.

He commissioned the building of separate stories, one for each of his five kids, so that he could afford to create a lavish castle. There was no lack of money in the family since everyone in the family traded in gold and silver threads, which were used to embroider clothing.


The collection of Havelis, which was formerly inhabited by the Patwa family, is now home to the Rajasthan government's art and craft division. This collection of Havelis is popular among both visitors and locals because of its exquisite construction, imaginative mirror work, detailed carvings, stunning paintings, and rich goldish-yellow hue.

2. Witness historical artwork

The Patwon Ki Haveli in Jaisalmer is renowned for its intricate and exquisite artwork that showcases the skills of local craftsmen. The haveli's ornate carvings, murals, and jharokhas (balconies) are considered some of the finest examples of Rajasthani architecture.
