Why is it an “easy to moderate trek” and not just “easy”?

With multiple exits, steep climbs, and not extremely high altitude, this trek should be “easy”. Then why is it graded as an “easy to moderate trek”? Well, the reason is simple. The summit climb to Kedarkantha makes it an easy to moderate trek. The climb to the summit is long and steep. Thus, this makes the trek moderate because the amount of trekking you do on summit day is even longer. You trek for about 7-8 hours on summit day. You climb for five hours steadily with 2-3 hours of descending quickly. Thus, you need to have good leg strength for this day.

This is the reason the trek is marked as an easy to moderate trek.
