The Wang Na Palace, also known as the Front Palace, was initially constructed as a residence for a vice-king (Wang Na) during the early Rattanakosin period. Later, in the late 19th century, it was repurposed as a museum to showcase Thailand's rich cultural heritage and history. The National Museum's collections cover a wide range of artifacts, including art, sculptures, textiles, ceramics, royal regalia, and archaeological finds.
