The Catacombs of Paris are a network of underground tunnels and chambers located in the city of Paris, France. They are known for their vast collection of human bones and skulls, which were transferred from other cemeteries in the late 18th and early 19th centuries due to health concerns.

The history of the catacombs dates back to the 1700s when Paris was facing serious problems with overcrowded cemeteries. The solution was to move the remains of millions of deceased to a series of abandoned quarries and tunnels beneath the city.

Despite its popularity, the catacombs remain a dangerous and strictly regulated area. Parts of the tunnels are inaccessible and unauthorized visitors risk getting lost or injured.
