The Louvre Pyramid stands out as one of the most visited museums in the world despite
being relatively new compared to other well-known Parisian tourist sites. It is a crucial
component of the iconic cityscape of Paris. Since it debuted in 1989, the location has
actively competed with the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe for the title of the city's most
spectacular landmark.
One of Paris' most recognisable structures is the glass and aluminium Louvre Pyramid.
Tourists are drawn to this masterpiece of architecture because of its beauty and majesty.
Before becoming the entryway to the museum's three pavilions, the attraction was formerly
the Minister of France's residence.
Via the Louvre Pyramid, enter the world of the three pavilions' unique treasures. Your journey around the Louvre Pyramid will allow you to see the impressive collection of 537 artworks.
At the Louvre Pyramid, take in the 603 rhombus-shaped glass segments, 70 triangular glass
segments, and metal poles above your head.
Enjoy the modern twist on the surroundings while getting a bird's eye perspective of the
entire museum. See the most outstanding examples of how ancient and contemporary designs were
combined to create this exceptional work of perfection.
At the entrance to the Louvre Museum, take in the stunning grandeur of the glass and metal
Louvre Pyramid. Within the Louvre Pyramid, use the contemporary amenities including restaurants,
restrooms, lockers, and information desks.
How To Reach
1. By train: The Louvre Pyramid Rivoli Metro station is the closest. You can likewise get
down at Palais Regal Musée du Louver. Line 1, the Yellow Line, connects the two stations.
Chatelet Les Halles on RER A is the closest RER station. If you're in Paris, take the Metro
route to the museum because it's quick and cheap.
2. By Bus: Bus RATP provides direct bus services to the Louvre Pyramid. You can get to the
Louvre Pyramid stop on buses on Lines 21 and 95. The buses depart every five to seven
minutes. One can reach there in 5 minutes .
3. Car or bicycle: The quickest route to the destination is this one. All over the city, you can
get to the Louvre Pyramid in less than 10 minutes with a taxi or an app cab that costs
between 10 and 13 euros.
Things to know before going to the Louvre Pyramid
1.Visit during the Night: One can visit Louvre till 9:45 pm. The nighttime hours begin at six
o'clock. As a result, you can see when there aren't as many ordinary tourists and school
groups.
2. Pack appropriately: a trip to the Louvre will take at least four hours. Bring small snacks,
water, and other supplies, for example. If you need to remove your jacket or something
similar, have a bag nearby because the interior could feel heated.
3. Try an alternative entrance: The glass pyramid entrance is where most visitors enter the
museum, which is always crowded. When the crowd is small, and there is no line, the
Carrousel du Louvre is the best place to enter.
4. Think about an audio guide: French is used for all the museum's labelling and signs
instead of English. Decide on the audio guide if you don't speak French well to make your
visit worthwhile

Wing Denon
The Denon Wing at the Louvre Pyramid is a must-see attraction near the Grande Gallery. It
was initially built to link the Tuileries Palace and the Louvre Palace. Some of the most
well-known pieces of art in history may be found in this wing, including the Mona Lisa by
Leonardo da Vinci and The Winged Victory of Samothrace and the Rebellious enslaved
person by Michelangelo.
Richelieu Wing
On the other side of the Denon Wing is where you'll find the Richelieu Wing. Many
collections of historical sculptures, decorative arts, European paintings, and Mesopotamian
artefacts may be found in this section. Also living there is Napoleon III. The royal statues at
the Cour Puget and the Cour Marly on the ground floor are the attractions of the Richelieu
Wing, drawing hundreds of tourists.
Sully Wing
The Sully Wing is the oldest section of the Louvre and is situated behind the Louvre
Pyramid. It contains many well-known French paintings. The third floor of the Louvre Palace
is where you'll find all of these painting collections. On the first and second levels, there are
historical artefacts from Egypt and Greece as well. This wing also has some historic palace
structures formerly utilised as a mediaeval stronghold.
April and May are the best times to go to the Louvre Pyramid because the
streets are covered in flowers, and the attraction is in full springtime mode. Even though it is
shoulder season, you won't have to deal with as many people and can easily explore the
pyramid now. Wednesdays and Saturdays are the best days to visit during the week
because the pyramid is open for extended periods, and you can explore the attraction at
your own pace.
